Andy joined Lothian and Borders Police in 1984 and progressed to assume senior operational investigative and intelligence roles at a local, national and international level. As head of the UKs law enforcement response for cyber-crime he chaired the Strategic Threat Board, and chaired a number of international forums including the European Joint Cyber Taskforce and Five Eyes Cyber-Crime Board. He was, for many years the UK governments representative on the G8 Law Enforcement Sub-Group.
Andy previously led the Home Office team responsible for delivering a National Cyber Crime capability for the UK and headed up the National Cyber Crime Unit, which still leads the UK response to cybercrime. Like CCL, the unit works closely with police Regional Organised Crime Units (ROCUs), Industry and Government. Most recently he provided global corporate cyber advice and security for Credit Suisse Bank. Previously CEO, he is now a consultant for CCL, aiming to further develop CCL’s forensic capabilities and strengthen the fight against digitally-enabled crime and cybercrime.
