The latest in our Case Work series highlights how CCL’s cell site team stands out in terms of ability and attitude - and how those qualities impact a positive result at court.
The initial submission involved a cell site analysis in relation to one phone. CCL expert Robert Moore was able to demonstrate that the data from the phone was of a type to be expected if it had been in an area that included a property that was the scene of a repeated attempted burglary on two dates.
Just three working days before the trial was due to start in March 2023, CCL was advised that the prosecutor had received a defence statement from the suspect, and we were asked to provide additional, targeted analysis in relation to this newly provided position.
Robert Moore quickly clarified the requirements and provided an additional statement the following day, responding directly to this new defence position.
After a not guilty plea, the defendant was subsequently found guilty and sentenced to 8 years 3 months.
