CCL has achieved ISO 17025 accreditation for Cell Site Analysis (DIG200), reinforcing its leadership in digital forensics and full compliance with the Forensic Science Regulator’s Code of Practice.
CCL, one of the UK’s leading digital forensics and cyber security specialists, has announced that it has now achieved ISO 17025 accreditation for Forensic Science Activity DIG200 (Cell Site Analysis).
This milestone cements CCL’s position as the UK’s largest accredited team of cell site experts and one of the few organisations demonstrably compliant with the Forensic Science Regulator’s (FSR) Code of Practice.
Comments CCL’s CEO Noel McMenamin:
“This is a fantastic achievement, something we’ve been working towards for some time and a real testament to both our cell site experts and quality management team. Our accreditation confirms what has long been standard practice at CCL: that our experts deliver cell site analysis in line with the highest scientific, legal and ethical obligations. To have that formally recognised is very gratifying and significantly boosts our position in the top echelon of digital forensics providers.”
Adds CCL’s Cell Site Manager Kevin Weeks:
“Accreditation is a bit of a game-changer given the timing. From October 2025, compliance with DIG200 is no longer optional and any work that does not comply is, by definition, sub-standard, in breach of the Code, and a risk to the Criminal Justice System.
“For law enforcement and legal teams there couldn’t be a clearer signal to start reviewing urgently how they handle cell site analysis. If they are outsourcing the work, then they need to be looking only at those providers who have UKAS accreditation for DIG200. At CCL, we have fully documented and externally audited validated methods and competencies covering every aspect of the role, from detailed technical knowledge of the traces considered to understanding how to handle uncertainty in survey methods to the legal obligations and duties of an expert witness to the formation of sound opinion.
“This is our subject. No one can claim deeper competence or a larger accredited resource, and we are delighted to have further extended what is already the UK’s widest digital forensics service scope under ISO 17025.”
