CCL targets new standard in remote collections

Easier compliance with data protection obligations, greater sensitivity to personal privacy, and reduced volumes for review are just some of the advantages of taking the targeted - and less intrusive - approach to forensic data collection

CCL Solutions Group is looking to assist organisations wrestling with growing challenges around forensic data collections, specifically relating to costs, turnaround speed and, increasingly, privacy considerations.

CCL is currently the only UK digital forensics service provider offering a ‘frictionless’ remote collection solution – a CCL analyst can collect from a suitable device securely over the internet, typically in under an hour; no experts or hardware need to be sent to site, meaning no delay, reduced cost and less disruption.

It has now gone one stage further with a targeted extraction capability. This enables selective collection of applications or data types specifically requested by the client, with the collection process able to be viewed throughout by the custodian.

The benefits of only retaining required data include:

- Greater sensitivity to data protection issues

- Less intrusion into personal data

- Lower costs due to minimised data volumes

- Immediate availability of data set for timely processing

- Accelerated time to review and insight

CCL normalises and provides the data in any required format, including a user-friendly review format for messaging data.

Darren Powney, CCL’s Director of Software Solutions and Business Development, comments: “For those routinely organising data collections, there is an emerging pressure – fast turnaround and cost-efficient execution have always been ‘wants’ but privacy and data protection are rapidly becoming ‘needs’. Our targeted extraction service gives you the best of all worlds – rapid, economical, confidential, secure”.
